about Melissa

Melissa Goodnight’s work has appeared or is forthcoming in Hippocampus, The Citron Review, Litro, Moon City Review, and Lunch Ticket, among others. Her piece “Leavenworth” was shortlisted in the New Orleans Review 2023 Micro Essay Contest. She writes both short-form fiction, CNF, and hybrid pieces with a penchant for lyric essays. She holds an MFA from Mississippi University for Women, an MA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a BA in English from Missouri State University. She lives in Atlanta.

She’s politically active, volunteers with DeKalb County Public Schools, and likes to meet new dog friends. She was previously an editor at Ponder Review and is currently an Associate Fiction Editor at West Trade Review.
